How Do I Get Medical Help While Abroad?

Find out what to do in a medical emergency abroad and how to use the DrPlease! Teledoctor service for minor medical problems.

How do I get medical help while abroad?

The right service depends on whether you have a medical emergency or need help with a minor medical problem.

Medical emergencies

If you have a medical emergency abroad, contact the local emergency services first where necessary.

You should then contact our Emergency Medical Assistance Service:

Telephone: +44 (0)330 123 2370

When calling, select option 1 to be transferred to the emergency medical team.

You should contact the Emergency Medical Assistance Service as soon as possible if you:

  • Are admitted to hospital.

  • Require significant medical treatment.

  • May need to cut your trip short for medical reasons.

  • May require repatriation back to the UK.
