What is covered if my baggage , passport or money are lost, damaged, or delayed?

1. What counts as personal belongings?

Your personal belongings include:

• Your baggage (suitcases and similar containers)

• The items you pack inside them

• Valuables

• Personal money and cash

These items are covered if they are lost, stolen or accidentally damaged while you are on your trip.

2. What am I covered for if something happens to my belongings while travelling?

You’re covered for the cost to replace or repair:

• Baggage

• Valuables

• Personal money

• Cash

• Important travel documents (including your passport) if the loss happens abroad

Lost or stolen items are replaced on a new-for-old basis where possible.

3. What if my baggage is delayed?

If your baggage is delayed by your transport provider on your outward journey, we cover the cost of essential items, such as clothing and toiletries, once the delay reaches 12 hours.

No cover applies on your return journey, as you have access to your belongings at home.

4. Are my passport and important travel documents covered?

Yes — if they are lost, stolen or damaged while abroad, we cover:

• The cost of replacement

• Necessary travel and accommodation to reach an embassy

Please ensure that any temporary documents issued allow you to continue your trip or return home.

5. Does Travel Disruption Cover (TDC) add any extra protection?

Yes. With TDC you also get:

Cover if your passport or visa is stolen within 72 hours before departure

If the theft means you can no longer travel as planned, cancellation cover applies.
(This benefit is only available with TDC; it is not part of the standard Personal Belongings section.)

6. Am I covered if my belongings are lost or stolen before I leave home?

Standard cover only applies once your trip has started.

However, with TDC, you are covered if your passport or visa is stolen within 72 hours before departure and this prevents you from travelling.

7. What do I need to provide when I make a claim?

You must follow the reporting steps in your policy, such as obtaining:

• A police report for theft

• A carrier report (PIR) if the airline loses or damages your items

• Proof of ownership
