BagFinder is a simple, free luggage identification service included with your CoverForYou travel insurance policy. It helps give your lost luggage a better chance of finding its way back to you.
Using a personalised QR code, BagFinder allows anyone with a smartphone to identify your bag and contact you if it's found. It's useful not just at airports, but also if you accidentally leave your luggage in a taxi, hotel or elsewhere during your trip.
How do I use BagFinder?
Getting started is simple:
Download your BagFinder document from your purchase confirmation page or Customer Zone.
Print the document on A4 paper.
Place a copy inside each bag, somewhere it can easily be seen if the bag is opened.
Travel as normal, knowing your luggage has an additional way of being identified if it goes missing.
What happens if my luggage goes missing?
If your bag is lost at an airport:
Report it immediately at the airline's lost luggage desk before leaving the airport.
Complete a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) and keep a copy, as you'll need this if you make a claim for lost luggage.
Tell the airline representative that your bag contains a BagFinder QR-code sheet.
When your bag is found, airport staff or anyone else who discovers it can scan the QR code using a smartphone.
The code provides your name, email address and telephone number, allowing the person who finds your bag to contact you directly or help match it to your lost luggage report.
Important: BagFinder is an additional way to help recover lost luggage. It does not replace the airline's lost baggage reporting process or guarantee that your bag will be returned.
Where can I find my BagFinder document?
Your personalised BagFinder document is available:
On your policy purchase confirmation page.
At any time through your Customer Zone.
We recommend printing your BagFinder sheets before you travel and placing one inside every bag you're taking with you.
