How do I get and use my free 1GB eSIM? (Single Trip / Annual Multitrip Policies)

eSIM

Every person insured under a CoverForYou Single Trip or Annual Multi-Trip policy is entitled to a free 1GB travel eSIM, helping you stay connected abroad without using your usual mobile roaming allowance.

Provided by Kolet, your eSIM:

  • Includes 1GB of mobile data per insured person.

  • Can be used in 145 countries.

  • Is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

  • Lets you keep your usual mobile number and physical SIM.

  • Supports personal hotspots, so you can share your data with other devices.

An eSIM is a digital SIM that works directly on compatible smartphones, so there's no need to insert or replace a physical SIM.

How do I claim and set up my free eSIM?

Follow these steps to get your eSIM ready for your trip:

  1. Claim your eSIM – Visit Manage Your eSIM under Additional Policy Benefits and select the country or region where you'll be travelling.

  2. Download the Kolet app – Available on the Apple App Store or Google Play.

  3. Create an account or sign in – Use the same email address your eSIM was issued to. For the main policyholder, this is normally the email address on your policy.

  4. Install your eSIM – Follow the instructions in the Kolet app to install it on your phone.

  5. Activate your mobile data abroad – When you arrive at your destination, follow Kolet's instructions to use your eSIM for mobile data.

Good to know: If your policy covers a single country or Europe, the main policyholder's eSIM may already have been issued. If so, you can go straight to the Kolet app and sign in using your policy email address.

We recommend installing your eSIM before you travel, while you have a reliable internet connection.

How do I get free eSIMs for other people on my policy?

Every insured person is entitled to their own free 1GB eSIM, not just the main policyholder.

To request an eSIM for another traveller:

  1. Open your eSIM management page using the link in your email, or sign in to your Customer Zone.

  2. Select Manage Your Policy → Manage Your eSIM.

  3. Choose Request another eSIM.

  4. Enter the email address of the person who will use the eSIM.

  5. Ask them to download the Kolet app and sign in using that same email address.

Their free 1GB data allowance should appear in the Kolet app once they have signed in.

Important: Each traveller must use the email address associated with their own eSIM to access their data allowance.

What happens when I've used my free 1GB?

You can purchase additional mobile data directly through the Kolet app whenever you need it.
