To be covered by a CoverForYou travel insurance policy, you must be:
Permanently resident in the UK; and
Registered with a UK GP.
Your home must also be your permanent residence in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
Your main home should be in the UK.
In practice, factors such as the following may be relevant when considering your residency:
Where you normally live.
Which address you treat as your main home.
Where your household bills and official correspondence are sent.
Whether you remain registered with a UK GP.
How much time you spend living outside the UK.
Simply having access to a UK address does not necessarily mean you meet the residency requirement.
You may still be eligible if the UK remains your main permanent home and you continue to meet the residency requirements.
If you divide your time between countries or spend extended periods abroad, please contact us before purchasing if you are unsure whether you qualify.
Tax residency rules are separate from CoverForYou's insurance eligibility requirements.
