Q: Am I still eligible for a policy if I have spent more than 6 months outside of the UK?
A: If you have spent more than 183 days within the UK over the last year, you are considered a UK resident under our standard guidelines.
However, if you spent less time than that in the UK, your official residency status can become complex. Because we cannot provide legal or tax residency advice, please review the guidance below to determine your eligibility:
When Residency is Unclear: Determining official status when spending extended time abroad is complicated. If you are unsure of your standing, we recommend consulting a legal or financial professional to verify your residency.
Confirming Eligibility: We can provide you with information regarding the standard rules of residency to help clarify your position. If, after reviewing those rules or consulting a professional, you can confidently confirm to us that you maintain permanent UK residency, we can issue your policy—provided you meet all of our other standard eligibility criteria (such as being registered with a UK GP).
Please note: All cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, and any applicable excess.
