Can I buy CoverForYou travel insurance if I'm living in the UK on a visa?
Yes, you may be eligible.
You do not need to be a British citizen to purchase CoverForYou travel insurance.
The key requirements are that you:
Are permanently resident in the UK.
Are registered with a UK GP.
Meet the other eligibility requirements of the policy.
What does permanently resident in the UK mean?
The UK must be your main, permanent place of residence.
You may be eligible if you are a foreign national living in the UK and your main home is established here.
You may not be eligible if you are only visiting or working temporarily in the UK and your main permanent home remains overseas.
Do I need to be registered with a UK GP?
Yes.
You must be registered with a UK general practitioner.
Being able to access NHS services does not replace the requirement to be registered with a UK GP.
Does my visa need to remain valid after my policy ends?
Your visa and residency arrangements must allow you to continue meeting the policy's UK residency requirements.
If your visa is due to expire, you are awaiting a renewal or you are unsure whether your immigration status affects your eligibility, please contact us before purchasing.
What if my visa is being renewed?
If your current visa is close to expiry or a renewal application is pending, please contact CoverForYou before purchasing.
We can explain the insurance eligibility requirements, but we cannot provide immigration advice or confirm the outcome of a visa application.
Important: All cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, cover limits and any applicable excess.
