Your CoverForYou Annual Multi-Trip travel insurance policy can renew automatically each year, helping you maintain continuous cover without needing to purchase a new policy manually.
If automatic renewal is enabled, we'll attempt to collect your renewal premium using your existing payment details before your current policy expires.
You'll receive advance notice of your renewal, including the premium and terms, so you have time to review your cover and make any necessary changes.
We'll email you your renewal terms and premium at least 21 days before your policy expires.
You'll receive this notification whether automatic renewal is enabled or disabled.
Your renewal notice gives you the opportunity to:
Review your renewal premium and policy terms.
Check that your personal and medical information is up to date.
Make changes to your cover if necessary.
Decide whether you want your policy to renew.
Yes. We may be able to offer you a renewal up to three months before your policy expires.
If you'd like to renew early, please contact our customer service team to discuss the available options.
If automatic renewal is enabled, we'll attempt to collect your renewal premium before your current policy expires.
We'll attempt to take your renewal payment seven days before your policy's expiry date.
This gives us time to resolve any payment problems before your existing cover ends.
If the payment is unsuccessful:
We'll email you to let you know.
You'll have an opportunity to check your payment details and pay manually.
We'll make another automatic payment attempt before your policy expires.
If the first attempt was unsuccessful, we'll try again three days before your policy expires.
If this payment also fails:
We'll send you another email notification.
You can still make a manual renewal payment before your policy expires.
Important: Your policy will not renew automatically if we cannot successfully collect the renewal premium. You must complete payment before the expiry deadline to maintain continuous cover.
Your automatic renewal payment may still be successful even if your card has expired, been lost or been replaced.
Our secure payment system uses payment tokens, which may allow updated card details to be recognised without you needing to enter them again.
However, this isn't guaranteed, so we recommend checking that your payment details are current before renewal.
If an automatic payment fails, we'll email you with further information.
You can opt out of automatic renewal at any time.
You can choose not to renew automatically:
When purchasing your policy.
Through your renewal portal.
By contacting our customer service team.
You can also manage your policy through your Customer Zone.
Turning off automatic renewal does not cancel your existing policy. Your current insurance will remain in place until its scheduled expiry date, subject to the policy terms.
Yes, but re-enabling automatic renewal will not automatically collect your renewal payment.
If you've previously opted out and then turn automatic renewal back on, you'll need to make a manual payment to complete your renewal.
Simply switching automatic renewal back on does not mean your policy has renewed.
Yes. Your renewal is an opportunity to review your insurance and make sure it continues to meet your needs.
You can update information such as:
Your home address.
Your contact details.
Other personal information that has changed.
You may be able to adjust your policy to better suit your upcoming travel plans.
This could include changing your level of cover or selecting different optional benefits.
Any changes may affect your renewal premium.
Removing an insured person
You can request to remove someone from a joint policy at renewal, provided the main policyholder authorises the change.
Adding an insured person
You may be able to add someone to your renewed policy, depending on factors such as:
Their age.
Their medical history or existing medical conditions.
The eligibility requirements of the policy.
Please contact CoverForYou if you'd like to add someone so we can check their eligibility.
Yes. Your renewal is a new insurance contract, so it's important to review your medical information and declare any changes.
You must tell us about:
Any new medical conditions diagnosed since you purchased or last renewed your policy.
Changes to existing medical conditions.
Any other relevant changes to your health that need to be declared under the policy.
Important: Do not assume that medical conditions declared on your previous policy will automatically remain accurate or appropriately covered under your renewed policy.
Failure to provide accurate medical information could affect your insurance cover or any future claim.
If you need to update your medical declaration, please contact our medical screening team:
Telephone: 0203 137 8981
Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm (UK time).
Not necessarily. Your renewal premium may be different from the amount you paid previously.
Factors that can affect your premium include:
Your age at renewal.
New or updated medical conditions.
Changes to your level of cover.
Optional upgrades or additional benefits.
Other changes affecting the price of your insurance.
We'll confirm your renewal premium in your renewal notification so you can review it before your policy renews.
If you don't complete your renewal by your policy's expiry date, your existing policy will expire and cannot be renewed through the normal renewal process.
You'll need to purchase a new travel insurance policy if you still require cover.
If your policy expires without being renewed, we'll send you an email containing a link to purchase a new policy.
This may include:
A returning customer discount.
A discount based on your accumulated CoverForYou Plus loyalty points, where applicable.
You can also get a new travel insurance quote.
If an unexpected incident occurs on your renewal date and you booked your holiday while your previous policy was active, you may still be able to claim for trip cancellation, provided you successfully renew your policy with CoverForYou.
Any claim remains subject to the policy's terms, conditions, exclusions and applicable limits.
Important: This provision should not be treated as a general extension of cover after your policy has expired. You should complete your renewal before the expiry deadline to avoid a potential gap in protection.
