The maximum length of your holiday depends on whether you have a Single Trip or Annual Multi-Trip policy, your level of cover and where you purchased your insurance.
It's important to ensure your policy covers the full duration of your journey.
An Annual Multi-Trip (AMT) policy allows you to take an unlimited number of eligible trips during your 12-month policy period.
However, each individual trip must not exceed the maximum duration allowed by your level of cover.
For policies purchased directly from CoverForYou:
Cover Level | Maximum Duration Per Trip |
|---|---|
Silver | 32 days |
Gold | 45 days |
Platinum | 62 days |
For example, if you have a Gold Annual Multi-Trip policy, you can take multiple holidays throughout the year, but each individual trip must not exceed 45 days.
Important: The maximum duration applies to each individual trip, not the total number of days you can travel throughout the policy year.
If you've purchased the optional Winter Sports upgrade, you're covered for a maximum of 28 days of winter sports activities across your entire policy year.
This is a combined annual allowance, not 28 days per holiday.
For example, you could take two winter sports holidays lasting 14 days each, provided both trips meet the other policy requirements.
Adding Winter Sports cover does not increase the maximum duration permitted for an individual trip.
If you purchase a Single Trip policy directly from CoverForYou, you can insure one holiday lasting between 3 and 94 days.
Minimum trip duration: 3 days.
Maximum trip duration: 94 days.
Your policy must cover the entire duration of your journey, from the date you leave home until your planned return.
If you've added the optional Winter Sports upgrade to your Single Trip policy, it provides winter sports cover for the full insured duration of your trip.
For example, if you purchase a 10-day Single Trip policy with Winter Sports cover, you can participate in eligible winter sports activities throughout those 10 days.
All activities remain subject to your policy's terms, conditions and exclusions.
Yes. Maximum trip durations may differ if you purchased your policy through a price comparison website.

MoneySuperMarket
The limits listed above apply to policies purchased directly from CoverForYou.
If you purchased through a comparison website, please check your policy wording and validation certificate to confirm the maximum trip duration applicable to your cover.
When purchasing your policy, your departure date should be the date you leave your home to begin your journey, rather than simply the date your flight or ferry departs.
For example, if your flight departs on Friday but you're travelling to the airport and staying in a hotel on Thursday night, your trip should start on Thursday.
This helps ensure you're insured for eligible travel disruption while travelling to your departure airport or port.
Important: Your policy must cover the full duration of your trip, including any overnight accommodation before your departure.

If your planned trip is longer than your policy allows, you'll need to consider an alternative policy or contact us to discuss your options.
You should not assume that a trip exceeding your policy's maximum duration will be covered.
If you're planning a longer journey, our Backpacker travel insurance may be worth considering.
