Q: What should I do if my health changes or I get a new diagnosis after I have already purchased my policy?
A: If your health status changes at any point after buying your insurance, your next steps depend on where you are in your travel timeline:
1. If Your Health Changes Before Your Trip Begins
If you develop a new medical condition, get prescribed new medication, or are sent for new medical tests after purchase, please call our Customer Service team as soon as possible. We will update your medical profile to ensure your cancellation and emergency medical cover remain fully valid - Cover is subject to specific criteria.
2. If Your Health Changes Right Around Your Ticket Issuance/Booking Confirmation
If your health changes after your policy has started and around the time your travel tickets are issued, you must consult your doctor to confirm that you are officially fit to travel.
Traveling Against Medical Advice: If you decide to travel after a doctor tells you not to, you will have zero coverage under Section 2 (Medical Emergencies) and Section 8 (Cruise Cover) if that condition flares up abroad.
Canceling the Trip Instead: If your doctor confirms you are medically unfit to go, you may still be able to file a claim under Section 1 (Cancellation) to recover your non-refundable trip costs, subject to standard terms.
💡 Helpful Travel Tip
If your health situation changes after purchase (for example, you are put under medical investigation or are awaiting treatment) and you choose to actively shorten your holiday or move your travel dates sooner to reduce your risk, we can often adjust and keep your cover in place.
Please note: All medical cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, and any applicable excess.
