Q: What are the medical payout limits, and how do healthcare agreements work abroad?
A: All of our travel insurance policies offer premium protection, providing medical emergency and repatriation cover up to £15 million.
Traveling in Europe with a GHIC or EHIC
Are you still covered without one? Yes. If you do not have a Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) or an older European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), you are still fully covered for medical emergencies across Europe under our standard terms.
The Excess Waiver Benefit: If you do hold a valid GHIC or EHIC and use it to reduce the cost of your emergency treatment at a public hospital within the EU, we will completely waive your policy excess. You will not have to pay any excess fee for that medical claim.
Traveling Outside the EU
If you are traveling outside the European Union, the UK maintains individual Reciprocal Health Agreements with various non-EU countries. We highly recommend visiting the official NHS website prior to departure to review what specific healthcare benefits apply to your chosen destination.
Please note: All cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, and any applicable excess.
