What Happens If a Policyholder Passes Away Abroad?

Explains the sensitive coverage rules regarding a policyholder's death outside the United Kingdom, including body repatriation and international funeral limits.

What cover does the policy provide if an insured person passes away while traveling outside the United Kingdom?

In the deeply unfortunate event of a policyholder's death while traveling outside of the United Kingdom, our policy provides compassionate financial protection and logistical support to your family:

  • Returning Home: The policy provides cover to help pay for the necessary costs of returning the deceased's body or ashes back to their home area within the United Kingdom.

  • International Funeral Assistance: Alternatively, the policy can provide financial assistance toward the cost of local funeral and burial expenses, provided the ceremony takes place entirely within the country where the death occurred outside the UK.

⚠ Important Exclusion

Please note that this policy does not cover any funeral, cremation, or burial costs incurred once the body or ashes have arrived back inside the United Kingdom.

Please note: All cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, and any applicable excess.
