Applying for a Visa: What Travel Insurance Documents Do I Need?

Find out which insurance documents are available for visa applications and what happens if you do not obtain your visa or passport in time.

What travel insurance documents can I use for a visa application?

When you purchase a policy, we provide a Certificate of Insurance as standard.

This is accepted by many countries as evidence of travel insurance.

Some countries may also require confirmation of the medical cover included under your policy, shown in US Dollars or Euros.

For this reason, we also provide a Cover Confirmation Letter for Visas with all policies.

How do I get my Visa Cover Confirmation Letter?

After purchasing your policy, you can download the document from your Customer Zone.

The letter provides confirmation of the medical cover included under your policy for visa purposes.

What happens if I do not get my visa or passport in time?

There is no cover under our policies if you are unable to travel because you failed to obtain the required travel documents, such as:

  • A visa.

  • A passport.

  • Other required travel documentation.

You should apply for any required documents as early as possible, as processing times can sometimes take several months.

What if my visa application is rejected?

If you purchased your travel insurance for a visa application and the visa is later rejected, our normal policy cancellation terms will apply.

Important: All cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, cover limits and any applicable excess.
