As a general rule, there is no cover if you travel to a country, specific area or event when the FCDO advises against all travel or all but essential travel.
However, your policy provides specific cover in some circumstances where the advice changes after you have arranged your trip.
What if the FCDO advice changes before I travel?
Cancellation cover can apply if the FCDO, or another relevant regulatory authority, advises against all travel or all but essential travel to your destination within 21 days of your departure date.
This does not apply where the advice is issued because of:
Terrorism.
War.
A pandemic.
Regional quarantine.
What if the advice changes while I am already abroad?
Curtailment cover can apply if, during your trip, the FCDO or another relevant regulatory authority advises you to:
Evacuate; or
Return to your home area.
The advice must have come into force during your trip.
This does not apply where the advice is issued because of:
Terrorism.
War.
A pandemic.
Regional quarantine.
What if I am visiting several destinations?
You should check the FCDO advice for every destination and each leg of your journey.
Important: All cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, cover limits and any applicable excess.
