Am I covered for COVID-19?
Yes.
Our travel insurance policies can provide cover for certain claims relating to COVID-19.
This can include:
Emergency medical claims caused by COVID-19.
Cancellation if you become ill with COVID-19 and are unable to travel.
Cancellation if you are required to self-isolate because of COVID-19, subject to the required medical evidence or official test result.
Curtailment following the death of a close relative due to COVID-19.
You can find more examples of common scenarios on our dedicated COVID-19 cover page.
What should I do if I test positive for COVID-19?
Unless your destination requires a COVID-19 test, you are not required by the policy to take one before travelling.
If:
Your destination requires a test; or
You choose to take a test because you feel unwell,
you should make sure you can provide suitable evidence of the result.
Accepted evidence can include:
A private test from a provider that issues a travel certificate.
Written confirmation of a positive COVID-19 test from a relevant source, such as a pharmacy, GP surgery or hospital.
Are COVID-19 testing costs covered?
No.
The policy does not cover the cost of routine COVID-19 testing before, during or after your trip.
This includes tests taken for reasons such as:
Pre-departure requirements.
Hotel or venue requirements.
Post-arrival testing.
However, if a COVID-19 test is required by a doctor or hospital as part of a valid emergency medical claim, the claims team may consider that cost on a case-by-case basis.
Important: All cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, cover limits and any applicable excess.
