Am I covered if someone else paid for my holiday?
Yes. Cancellation and travel disruption cover can still apply where someone else has paid for your holiday, provided you are:
Insured under the policy; and
Named on the relevant holiday or travel booking documents.
How much can I claim?
You can only claim for your proportion of the eligible holiday costs.
The policy does not cover costs relating to people who are not insured under your policy, even if you paid for their travel or accommodation.
What evidence will I need?
If you make a claim, you will need to provide the usual supporting documents showing the cost of the trip.
This can include:
Booking confirmations or invoices showing that you were named on the booking.
Evidence of the amount paid for the trip.
Cancellation invoices or other evidence of irrecoverable costs, where applicable.
If someone else paid for the holiday, they may also be asked to provide:
Evidence of payment; and
Written confirmation that the holiday, or your share of it, was gifted to you.
Important: All cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, cover limits and any applicable excess.
