Do I Need Cover for Every Country on My Cruise Itinerary?

Find out how your selected geographical area applies to cruise itineraries and what to check before travelling.

Do I need cover for every country on my cruise itinerary?

Yes. Your selected geographical area of cover must include every country listed on your cruise itinerary.

This applies even if you do not plan to leave the ship when it stops in that country.

Does staying on the ship make a difference?

No.

If your cruise itinerary includes a country that falls outside your selected geographical area, your policy will not provide the required cover for that trip simply because you intend to remain on board.

Example

If you have selected a European area of cover but your cruise itinerary includes a scheduled stop in Morocco, which falls within a Worldwide area, your existing geographical cover would not be sufficient.

You would need to upgrade your geographical area of cover before you travel.

What should I do before my cruise?

Check every country shown on your cruise itinerary and make sure they are all included within the geographical area shown on your policy.

If any destination falls outside your existing area of cover, you must update your policy before departure.

Important: All cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, exclusions and any applicable excess. Please refer to your policy wording for full details.
