It depends on how your allergies have been treated and whether you've sought medical advice.
You do not need to declare an allergy if you've only treated it with over-the-counter medication and have not required prescription treatment or medical advice.
However, you must declare allergies if you've received prescribed medication or consulted a medical professional about them.
You do not need to declare your allergy if:
You only use over-the-counter medication.
You have not required prescription treatment.
You have not consulted a doctor or other medical professional about the allergy.
All of these conditions must apply.
For example, mild seasonal allergies managed using over-the-counter antihistamines, without medical advice or prescription treatment, do not need to be declared.
You must declare your allergy during medical screening if you have:
Been prescribed medication to manage it.
Consulted a medical professional about it.
Required ongoing medical treatment or management.
This includes allergies for which you've been prescribed an adrenaline auto-injector, such as an EpiPen.
An allergy may still need to be declared even if your symptoms are currently well controlled or you now use over-the-counter medication.
If you've been referred for investigations to identify the cause of an allergic reaction or suspected allergy, different eligibility requirements may apply.
