Yes. CoverForYou requires customers to declare ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and autism when purchasing travel insurance.
Declaring these conditions allows us to assess your circumstances through medical screening and confirm what cover is available.
Having ADHD or autism does not automatically mean you cannot obtain travel insurance.
Yes. If you've been diagnosed with ADHD or autism, you must declare the condition during medical screening.
You will be asked relevant questions so we can assess your circumstances.
Depending on the outcome:
Cover may be available.
Additional terms or an additional premium may apply.
We may be unable to offer cover for the condition.
If we can offer cover, your quotation will include any additional premium and applicable terms.
Once you've purchased the policy, your declared and accepted medical conditions will be covered in accordance with those terms.
Yes. Under our current condition-specific medical screening guidance, you can still purchase a policy while awaiting an ADHD or autism diagnosis.
However, the suspected condition will not be covered until it has been fully diagnosed, assessed and accepted for cover.
Under the policy's pre-existing medical conditions provisions, claims arising directly or indirectly from an undiagnosed condition under investigation may be excluded under:
Section 1 – Cancelling or Cutting Short a Trip.
Section 2 – Medical Emergency and Repatriation Expenses.
Section 6 – Personal Accident.
Section 8 – Cruise Cover.
Other sections remain subject to their own policy terms and exclusions.
Purchasing a policy does not mean an undiagnosed condition has automatically been accepted for cover.
If you receive a confirmed ADHD or autism diagnosis after purchasing your policy, contact our Medical Screening Team.
Your circumstances can be reviewed to establish whether cover can be offered for the diagnosed condition.
Additional or amended cover is not automatically included following a diagnosis. The team can explain the available options and any additional premium.
