Will my policy automatically extend if I’m delayed abroad?
Yes, in some circumstances.
Your policy will automatically extend if your return to your home area is unavoidably delayed because of an event covered by your policy.
For the automatic extension to apply, you must:
Accept any reasonable alternative return arrangements offered to you; and
Not intentionally delay your return home.
What if the delay is not covered by my policy?
If the reason for your delayed return is not covered by your policy, the insurance period will not automatically extend.
The same applies if you choose to remain abroad rather than accept available alternative return arrangements.
In these circumstances, we may be able to extend your policy for an additional premium.
In many cases, you can check or request an extension through your Customer Zone.
