If you're awaiting a diagnosis for a new or suspected medical condition, CoverForYou cannot currently offer you a travel insurance policy while the condition remains undiagnosed.
This includes situations where you've been referred for medical investigations or are waiting for results to establish what is causing your symptoms.
If you're undergoing investigations for a medical condition that hasn't yet been diagnosed, we are unable to offer cover at this stage.
Examples include:
Being referred to a specialist because of unexplained symptoms.
Waiting for scan or test results relating to a suspected medical condition.
Undergoing investigations following an unexpected or abnormal test result.
Waiting for a doctor to confirm a diagnosis.
Under our policy, claims arising directly or indirectly from an undiagnosed condition that was being investigated when you purchased your insurance are excluded under the relevant medical-related sections.
Routine monitoring of an existing, fully diagnosed medical condition is different from investigating a new or undiagnosed condition.
If you're attending regular check-ups, scans or follow-up appointments for an established condition, we may still be able to offer cover following medical screening.
Can I Get Cover If I'm Having Routine Tests, Scans or Medical Reviews?
Yes. Once your investigations are complete and your condition has been diagnosed, you can apply for a new travel insurance quotation.
You'll need to declare the condition and complete any required medical screening.
Depending on the outcome:
Cover may be available for your condition.
Additional terms or an additional premium may apply.
We may be unable to offer cover.
A confirmed diagnosis does not guarantee that insurance will be available.
If you develop new symptoms or are referred for investigations after purchasing your policy, different considerations apply.
A change in health does not automatically invalidate an existing policy, but you should contact us to establish whether your cover is affected.
What Should I Do If My Health Changes After Buying Travel Insurance?
If we're unable to offer you cover while you're awaiting a diagnosis, a specialist insurance provider may be able to assess your circumstances.
