What Should I Do If I Forgot to Declare a Medical Condition?

Find out what to do if you did not disclose a medical condition when buying your policy and how this could affect a future claim.

What happens if I forgot to declare a medical condition?

If you did not disclose a medical condition that falls within our medical screening gateway questions when you bought your travel insurance, any claim connected to that condition may be reduced or rejected.

It is important that the medical information you provide is complete and accurate so that your cover can be assessed correctly.

What should I do if I missed a medical condition?

If you are still within your 14-day cooling-off period and have not yet travelled, you will normally be able to tell us about the missing medical condition using the Review your cover email sent after you purchased your policy.

If:

  • Your 14-day cooling-off period has ended; or

  • You are unable to use the Review your cover system,

you should contact us through your Customer Zone as soon as possible.

Important: Any change to your medical information may affect your cover. Claims related to an undeclared medical condition may be reduced or rejected, subject to the policy terms and circumstances of the claim.
